Home Support in Literacy, Numeracy and EFL.

I

 am a recently retired primary school teacher and teacher of EFL for all age groups. I have qualifications from the University of Manchester and the Queens' University of Belfast.

 

 

 As well as teaching in schools in England, Ireland, Poland and Lebanon, I have done a great deal of home tuition with Key Stage pupils in a learning support capacity. In recent years, I have also taught EFL both in schools and in students' own homes. I realise that the demands of the National Curriculum get more demanding as the years go by, so I am pleased to help children who are struggling at school. I also know that many immigrants, children and adults alike, need more support in mastering the English language. Though I have taught EFL to people of a largr number of nationalities, I have a lot of experience teaching Polish immigrants as my basic knowledge of the Polish language helps in this regard.

 After initially teaching in England, I went on to teach in a variety of schools in Noerthern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. I also taught in summer language schools in Poland for many years and, towards the end of my career, in a private school in Lebanon. I am presently doing home tuition at Key Stage 2 level and in EFL in the Macclesfield/South Manchester/East Cheshire area. Teaching has always been my passion, and, now that I'm retired from full-time teaching, I am only too glad to have opportunites to keep in touch with teaching and learning.

 

It is a source of great satisfaction to me to see students who are struggling with basic skills improve and experience success both in the classroom and their daily lives. As a son of Polish immigrants to england, I get particular satisfaction from helping those who need help to master the English Language.
