I have recently graduated from The University of Edinburgh with a first class honours degree in English Literature. Getting young people excited about books, plays and poetry, by teaching them to engage with texts in an active way, is the perfect way for me to continue pursuing my passion for literature. Interpreting literature is a form of inductive reasoning, an exercise in collecting information and synthesising or refuting arguments. This is a skill that is fully transferable to other areas of life. Writing proficiency is another invaluable skill that can enhance a person's career prospects, and life in general. For these reasons I believe it's important that everyone achieves some level of competency in English. Studying English Literature is a skill that takes time and commitment, and I would be more than happy to help guide anyone along the way. During school I attained an A in Standard Grade English, A1 at Higher English, and A1 at Advanced Higher English. I am happy to tutor anyone, of any level.
