I have been a Lecturer of Sociology for five years. During this time, I have been Course Leader for GCSE Sociology and have taught on both the AS and A2 Specifications for AQA Sociology. I have taught Families and Households, Education, Beliefs in Society and Crime and Deviance.
Further to this, I have also taught the new OCR Sociology specification, whereby I have taught both first years components - Introducing Sociology (Identity) and Families and Relationships. I am currently an examiner for AQA Sociology on both the GCSE and A2 papers (GCSE UNIT 2 and A2 Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods).
This will be my fourth year of examining, which I find is one of the most educational experiences, which teachers can undertake. Examining allows for a further and developed understanding of what the exam board is after with student responses. With my teaching, this knowledge forms part of the foundation of learning, In my opinion, understanding exam technique and essay structure are two of the fundamental skills, which I feel all students need to have before their exams.
I feel that I am an approachable and friendly teacher of Sociology, who is willing to go the extra mile to my students. If you require any further information, please feel free to drop me an email.
