Michelle is a self-taught professional DJ of 22+yrs who works at Sheffield City Hall, Sheffield Walkabout as well as various cruise ships on behalf of Princess Cruises. Teaching others has been a passion of mine for many years.
However it wasn’t until I was approached to teach others that I turned my spare room into a large DJ Booth and in Sept 2015 Want2DJ was born.
I provide 1:1 DJ tuition for the absolute beginners to semi-professionals. Developing skills and performances by build lessons around each students DJ Goals. Thus allowing each student to get our undivided attention for the full length of the lesson.
We work with children as young as 8yrs right up to adults in their late 40’s. All with varying skills, talents, music preferences and goals. Not all students know what they want from the experience long term. Some like to try it out to find out if they’re any good?

Student Reviews Owen Gregory (DJ Gregs Parties) "seriously would recommend want2dj to anyone who has a interest in DJing in the South Yorkshire area. Such a good helpful service and has managed to get me to be a professional DJ within a year.” Feb 2017 Niall (Age: 15) "I really enjoyed my first lesson and couldn’t wait for my next one. My last lesson was a lot more spontaneous from my first and led to more creative freedom. I learn loads in a lesson and Michelle is a great teacher.
She often makes even the trickiest concepts so easy to learn she also accepts all taste in music. I look forward to future lessons." Jan 2017 Zoë (34) "Want2DJ Lessons are fun as well as informative. Right from the start, I felt comfortable and excited for each lesson which was mapped out and broken down according to my capabilities. Outside of lessons I’ve received help and advice about buying equipment and building my music library.
As you can imagine that first gig is the most nerve racking, yet despite my skills still being at a basic level, I’ve had opportunities to put what I’ve learned into practice and received help and support every step of the way. From setting up for the gig, to Michelle being there for me throughout, which was amazing. I now feel confident to carry on with my lessons to start fine tuning my work and take my skill set to the next level by learning more difficult transitions and mixes." (June 2016).
