I am an experienced and versatile Healthcare Professional (Qualified Pharmacist) with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology (Respiratory). My formal training was undertaken at The University of Nottingham in conjunction with Bristol-Myers Squibb and AstraZeneca. The experience gained over my 22 years exposure to the community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, industrial pharmacy and academic sectors has informed my tutoring and teaching across a range of biological / disease / therapy areas. At the Higher Education level, I have taught numerous (i.e. 1500+) Pharmacy undergraduate and professional postgraduate students. Furthermore, I have led innovative research programmes leading to the release of 17 peer-reviewed publications, 1 patent application and the initiation of my contract research organisation Pulmorphix Limited where I worked as Scientific Director. Therefore, I am able to help with improvements in scientific / report writing. Over a 12 year period in Higher Education as a Senior Lecturer, I have influenced policy and directed a range of initiatives (e.g. Medical School Admissions and outreach presentations). I have also trained registered Pharmacists, Nurses, Paramedics, Podiatrists, and Radiographers on the Non-Medical Prescribing programme at Edge Hill University. Aspects include drug pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamics, adverse drug reactions, drug interactions and polypharmacy.
