Hello, I am a 29 year old primary school teacher, based in Wandsworth! At present I am a Y1 teacher, phonics lead within the school (covering both KS1 and KS2) and key stage lead for my key stage. I am used to working with children of all ages, and have a specific strength in reading and writing, but I am well versed in covering all subjects. I am bright, fun, reliable, bubbly and very dedicated to getting the best from my tutees. I have taught all ages from 4 up to 11 and am very aware of both the national curriculum and SATs targets for all ages. Being a teacher myself I encounter a huge variety of children on a daily basis and it allows me to remain consistently up to date with the national curriculum and government expectations. However, with all of this taken in to account, the main thing I like to see is my pupils flourish, grow in confidence and become independent in their learning.

Tutoring Experience:
I have taught English as a foreign language in Thailand and I am curently working as a primary school teacher in South West London in an 'outstanding' rated school. I have previously, as well as currently, tutor a handful of children in which I have seen marked improvements in both their subject knowledge and confidence, helping them either deepen their knowledge (mastery) or achieve ARE (age related expectations). I have taught children who are EAL and have specific needs, such as autism and sensory issues and am well equipped with a variety of different approaches in helping them succeed. I adapt each session to the child and my focus is either filling any gaps within their curriculum, helping them to develop specific skills (these could be fine motor, speech and language etc) or going to to greater depth with those children who are at expected level and want to strengthen and deepen their knowledge. I like to start with my own assessment to see what level they are at, how they learn and if there are any gaps in their learning. After this, I create materials for each assessment and do ongoing assessments to monitor their progress. Each child learns in a unique way and I believe leaning should be fun and therefore I aim to make my session as enjoyable as possible! Young children learn and are more receptive when they are fully engaged with the task on hand. My aim is to inspire the love of learning, the ability to problem solve themselves and to take independence and pride in their own learning. I tailor lesson plans to accommodate all children's needs and I am used to dealing with a variety of abilities and altering my approach to suit these. I monitor the progress of all children I work with by identifying their specific needs and discussing with the child the way we can work together. My sessions are personal and I aim to work with both you and your child to meeting your required needs. Every one has different ways of learning and every child I meet have different needs and this is what I cater my sessions towards.
