Tutoring Experience:
I have nearly 10 years teaching Geography to Ks3 and 4 and some experience with Ks5. My roles over the last 10 years have included being a form tutor for 5 years which involved a lot of tutoring, Head of Dpeartment and Lead for Teaching and Learning (which involved working with teachers and students school-wide to imrpve T&L standards). I have also been an AQA examinar for the latest 9 -1 GCSE, therefore have an excellent understanding of the questions asked and how marks are awarded. Lastly, I carried out two years worth of research in my last School to obtain a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning. I create engaging, challenging but also creative sessions that will enhance your current knowledge and understanding. I like to focus on improving not only your knowledge and understanding of the content of the course but a lot of focus will be on improving exam technique by analysing, writing and reviewing past exam papers/questions. This involves breaking down the question, looking at command words, writing an answer and analysing how to improve the answer by highlighting key parts using the set Assessment Objectives from the Mark Scheme. This has proved very effective during classroom sessions.
