I am a trained and qualified Computing/IT professional; an ICT Champion; an expert in my field; an experienced Computing/IT teacher and highly interested in career development.

As a CTL, I counsel and monitor the progress of my team, organise course team meetings, organise IV and moderation, maintain and update manual and electronic/VLE course folders, monitor deadlines for assessments, liaise with other departmental course team leaders (example key skills and FS). I ensure that course team is up-to-date with curriculum updates.

I have 14 years experience teaching in post 16s and Adults in Further Education.

I have the experience of teaching both hardware and software courses across a range of ICT programmes which includes GNVQ, AVCE, BTEC, NewCAD, NOCN, National Certificate, Access to H.E in computing, City & Guilds, CISCO Academy Curriclum, GCSE, A-Levels.
I have the experience of developing and updating NewCAD curriculum.
I have the experience of external examiner for AQA awarding body on ICT in AVCE courses and Edexcel awarding body on ICT in GNVQ courses.
I prepare students for internal and external assessments, develop assessments to meet course requirements, act as internal verifier and moderator for a range of programmes.
I have more than seven years experience of managing programmes, which includes GNVQ, AVCE, BTEC and CISCO Academy. I have more than five years experience of leading course teams and personal tutoring group of learners. I have three years experience of mentoring PGCE staff.
I have the experience of personal tutoring a group of learners. I updated and maintained individual learning plans (ILPs) for each candidate; I gave oral feedback to individual learners and to the departments involved in their learning. I made accurate recommendations regarding their academic progression.
I keep up-to-date records of student’s attendance, assessments and examinations. I maintain manual and electronic records of examinations that I am responsible for.
I am actively involved in organising admissions and inductions for my programme area.
I take part in identifying candidates, academic and personal needs, I give guidance to learners depending on their individual needs and I ensure that they have access to learning support which is appropriate to their needs. Such learning support includes recommending the need for learning support workers; childcare, and career guidance.
