I am a professional, committed, passionate teacher who hopes to build on the experience I have gained through my PGCE and NQT year as an English and Drama Secondary School teacher.
I am qualified to teach all key stages and have an interest in working with low ability students and those who have English as an additional language. Promoting inclusion is truly important to me. Whilst teaching at the City of Norwich School I ran a lunchtime group for Year 7 students who found it hard to socialise.
Promoting teamwork skills is really important when teaching. At my PGCE placement school I created a drama group for Years 8 and 9. My aim was to get them to work well as a team, inspire them to use drama to express themselves and become more confident within their peer groups.
Not only do I focus on extending and improving my teaching skills I also aim to be a good role model for the students. In my spare time I volunteer at BUILD a charity that works with young adults with learning difficulties, helping develop their confidence and independence.
