My name is Philip, I am a Composition graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I was awarded the Edmund Rubbra prize for achieving the highest mark in my composition portfolio during my final year. As a professional composer I have composed music for artists and events such as the BBC Singers, Milton Keynes Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Sian Edwards), EXAUDI and the Musikkunstwerk project. My music has been performed at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, St Martins in the Fields, Cadogan Hall, Milton Court, David Josefowitz Recital Hall and the Saatchi Gallery.

I have worked on the award-winning Purcell School of Music's 'Outreach' program. This involves leading and giving creative workshops at schools around the country. Recently, I have been involved with teaching on Go Compose! events run by the organisation Sound and Music. Go Compose! is a national initiative that aims to provide opportunities for secondary-aged young composers who have tried composing and want to learn more. As a teacher I approach each student as an individual depending on previous experience and current level, I consider my primary and most important task as a teacher to inspire and stretch my students but also help them enjoy the amazing phenomenon that is music.
