I wish to pursue a career in both learning disabilities and mental health. I have experience in working with students in a university environment, as part of my Internship in 2014. This role was very student-driven and involved me supporting students and ensuring they obtain the relevant advise and information.
I learnt how to prompt students into understanding their situation and inquiry before directing them to the right kind of support. I also experienced students with difficult scenarios/inquiries which I was able to deal with by steering the conversation to see them understanding and finding their own solution.
I am also excellent at delivering and explaining information to students both succinctly and comprehensively. I enjoy this role and find it very rewarding which is why I would like to tutor students who may be struggling or just need an extra 'push'.
