I am 22 years old, a positive person, always eager to learn and with a can-do attitude. Graduated last year from University of Portsmouth, UK, with a First Class Honours for the BSc Criminology and Forensic Studies and currently finishing my MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Oxford, UK.
I finished my secondary education and college in Romania, having studied over 15 subjects, including Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Economy, History, Geography, Computer Science, Philosophy, French, Romanian, History of Religions etc, and obtaining qualifications in Romanian, English Further Maths and Computer Science (A-level equivalent).
I am keen on foreign languages, being fluent in Romanian and English and with working knowledge of French and basic knowledge of Spanish.
I also regularly attend a gym, as I find it enjoyable, good for self-discipline and a good stress relief. My other interests include watching BBC environmental documentaries, as well as programming tutorials, and scripting for a computer game soon to be on Kickstarter.

During college I worked as a Personal Assistant for my head teacher (Physics teacher), and, among other duties, I acted as a Teaching Assistant, preparing the lab for the class, as well as providing support during lessons. Furthermore, I co-edited with my teacher and another classmate, a highly-complex Physics manual for a non-expert audience. Acclaimed for its accessibility and clarity, this book will soon be used as the primary manual for college students from Mircea cel Batran National College Constanta, Romania.
My tutoring experience is vast and stretches over the past 7 years. Part of it was volunteering for less-able students in my school, while some of it was paid one-on-one tutoring for students aged 11-18. Apart from helping out my classmates in different subjects, from Chemistry, Forensic Science, Programming, Maths to English and French, I have also privately tutored three students in Advanced Maths for two years and one at secondary school-level Maths for two terms, all of them shoving improved grades and getting excellent results in their exams.
Throughout my high school years, I held monthly Computer Science meetings for my classmates (between 3 and 10 people), where I would go over what was taught and explain it in detail for those who did not understand it.
The feedback from those sessions was always positive and it marked the beginning of a peer mentoring program in my school. In addition, I tutored 6 pupils in English throughout the years, helping them with their grammar, reading and writing skills, as well as college essays.
Five of them took the IELTS exam (English test similar to TOEFL) and passed with good and very good grades while the last one was an English native speaker taking an undergraduate degree who needed help with his essays.
During my last year of high school, I also volunteered to tutor one of my classmates in Romanian grammar. Moreover, I have been proof-reading essays and reports for various subjects, from Criminal Justice to Geography (university-level) and from English to Astrophysics (secondary school and high school-level).
