I am a positive, interactive and creative teacher who feels that education should be as much about developing confidence, curiosity and critical thinking as passing tests/exams. I am a fully qualified secondary teacher with four years of classroom experience and over twelve years experience of working with children from 3 months to 18 years in a variety of settings.
My academic qualifications lie largely within the humanities; specifically the study of history and religions but I also have a passion for literature and have taught English up to GCSE level. Throughout my career I have enjoyed working with students of all abilities to help them meet their potential but my calm, gentle nature lends itself especially well to students who display special educational needs be they linguistic, emotional or cognitive.
Finally I am comfortable working with all age groups and would be delighted to move learning beyond the home and into art galleries, museums or even into nature.
Availability: I work on a flexible part time basis that suits the needs of my students. This includes evenings, weekends and school holidays.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Tutoring Experience:
I am fairly new to one to one home tutoring but have tutored many students who need additional help with grasping concepts, developing exam technique and those who require a boost in confidence in a school environment.
