I joined the BJJA in 1980 , trained until 1984 when I joined the WJJF in Congleton . Here I joined their Junior Demonstration Team doing displays for Police , Hospitals , M.P's , Councillors , Town Mayers and several local schools . I also began to attend various martial arts & weaponry courses all over the UK . I continued to train there and eventually took over running the club in 2002 until 2008 . I set up my own club in 1994 in Audley which still runs today . I passed my Black Belt in 1985 and continued through 5 Dan gradings to reach the 5th Master Grade of Godan in 2017 . I became a fully qualified Martial Arts Instructor in 1986 and completed several courses to become a Level 3 Area Coach , WJJF Technical Officer and NVQ Level 2 City & Guilds in Sports & Recreation with First Aid . I continue to keep up to date on refresher courses and DBS checks . In 2018 I was awarded the rank of Senior Technical officer . Over the last few years I have put on several Self-defence Courses for Youth & Community Services , Newcastle College & Staffordshire Aid Cadets . In 2015 I was voted onto The WJJF Management Team and in 2017 voted onto The WJJF Working Syllabus Team . As part of this honour I was asked to instruct on their 40th Anniversary International Course at their Headquarters in Liverpool along with several other Instructors from USA , Russia , Italy & Poland . The course was attended by hundreds of WJJF Students . In 2016 I ran an Introduction to Ju-Jitsu Course for local Holiday Sports Club Bee Active who have asked to return every year as part of their Summer Activities . In 2016 I became a full-time Martial Arts Instructor and have strived to open the world of Ju-Jitsu to everyone from 4yrs upwards . From 2016 I have owned 3 WJJF clubs ; Audley , Blurton & Congleton with over 100 students .
