I am currently studying for a Master`s Degree in Physics at St John`s College at the University of Oxford. I find tutoring incredibly rewarding and always enjoy watching tutees surpass expectations they had of themselves at the start of the sessions.
I have recent experience of sitting exams and succeeding in them so have a good knowledge of exactly what is required. A focus of mine is to give students a proper understanding of the material in the exam, and I will always have several approaches to explaining a concept.
Knowing all the material will undoubtedly see a student succeed, but I also have an excellent knowledge of tips and tricks specific to maths and physics papers to pick up the final marks, so the student achieves what they are capable of. I can also give relevant and up to date advice on exam technique so the student can make the most of their ability on the day.
I also have experience of working with students who are often worried or embarrassed about not understanding something. This is common, so I endeavour to make students feel comfortable asking questions about concepts that they feel are simple or that they `ought` to know already.

Tutoring Experience:
I have taken on several tutees during my time at RGS Guildford and have been successful in converting C-D grade students into A-grade students at GCSE-level maths. I have also spent time teaching children as young as 8 and getting them to enjoy the subject as well as understanding new ideas.
I have experience in teaching A-level maths and physics to individuals, with particular progress in getting tutees to understand fully the most challenging areas of the course and teaching them the tricks applicable to the exam.
