I am a professional pianist with great experience in teaching all ages and levels of ability. I teach at my home in Central Guildford (4-5 mins to the top of the High Street, 3-4 mins walk to London Road station).
I always create an individual curriculum depending on the abilities, interests and personal requirements of my students - I am happy to work towards ABRSM grades or on a tailored syllabus.
I prepare students for ABRSM exams (grades 1-8 + Diploma), competitions and performances on a regular basis with regular achievements of Distinction. I am a sensitive, easy-going person who always encourages her students to do their best without unnecessary stress, build their self-believe and help them to enjoy the process of music-making.
I pay special attention to performance related anxiety, discussing helpful strategies and giving tips which would enable the performer to have a positive experience when showcasing their skills in public.
Willing to travel: Home Only
In the past few years I have worked with people of all ages and abilities. I have a vast experience in working with beginners, especially very young children.
In this case various games and playful elements are involved in the teaching, giving the child the opportunity to learn through play and progress as fast as possible. All of my little students start reading notes within the first couple of weeks.
