With having recently completed my university postgraduate degree, I provide an established range of mathematics tuition with over 4 years of experience, including extensive experience teaching from 11+ all the way through GCSE and up to and including A-levels.
Additionally, I have attained: • A Bachelor’s degree (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering and
• An additional pending Masters (MSc) in Sustainable Energy Systems, both at Queen Mary University of London It allows my understanding of the subject to be reinforced while giving me a holistic view of it. A significant chunk of my students have qualified for and have enrolled to private schools such as North London Collegiate, Christ's Hospital, Francis Holland: Regent’s Park, Morehouse and Queen's Gate School, to name a few.
And my quality of service reflects this with parents requiring such teaching standards for their children. Tutoring is something I do that not only gets good results improving their math skills, but something I find enjoyable - and this is reflected in the effort, organisation and analysis I put into each of my lessons. My fee is £30/hour.
Beginning assessment sessions are at £20/hour. Lessons can also be paid for in bulk by the hour, at a discount. Major cards accepted.
I have also been DRB checked. For more details, please contact me. References provided by my students’ parents are provided below:
(1) Testimonial by Farzana Khan, mother. “To Whom It May Concern: This is my testimony for Mr George Mitrousis our maths tutor for the past two years. George teaches my daughter weekly now, who’s currently in year 8, while during the exam and holiday period we have had numerous lessons. I choose to do this for 3 factors (1) he is very well acquainted and comfortable with maths and has a comprehensive understanding of it (2) my daughter has made significant progress and has blossomed as a mathematician in her own right and(3) maths is the subject which, if left unattended for too long, you lag behind - losing the work put in. Therefore, I keep on top of this. When we met George my then 10 year old had an education gap due to her not attending mainstream school. George quickly recognised her deficiencies and worked with her, strengthening and reinforcing those areas. His character is perfect for our value system too - as we need a decent tutor who is respectful and sensitive to our household, with a little 4 year old running around. He is considerate, kind, focused, happy, jolly, intelligent, excited and enthusiastic about maths and has a robust patience with his students. My daughter enjoys her maths lessons with George and I love hearing 'Yes!' in the background when she solves a maths problem. The 11+ period was tough for someone who has not had schooling/lessons for over a year and she did extremely well in her maths examination and made the cut for 5 schools in London, including City of London and Francis Holland School: Regent's Park. I do believe having George as her tutor has maximised those offers due to her maths results! In fact, the tuition lessons we have undertaken has led to my daughter moving up from the second highest maths group in her class, in the beginning, to now being present in the top class - while her achievements in the subject led to being awarded a certificate with direct recognition and commendation from the Headmistress! This is in addition to George accelerating her learning such that she has been going through work academically 1 year in advance of her current standing; with further preparations to be made to tackle GCSE level maths. We have been so happy with George such that when mothers have seen the progression of my child's maths in a short period of time, they were also keen to select George as their maths tutor. Each one of them is constantly praising him. George is reliable, trustworthy and extremely good at maths and at teaching it. With this, he brings a positive energy and an essential positive attitude into our home. I am happy to recommend George and if you need any further information, please contact him for my details. Finally, please do not leave it too long as he will become very busy and you will kick yourself, as I found, often happens. When you find a good tutor, secure him before others do. Best wishes Farzana”
(2) Testimonial by Yasmin, mother. “George has been known to me for the past three years, he is an eager and excitable young man who has an ambition to be a very successful mathematician. In the past three years he has applied himself judiciously to tutoring my fourteen year old son Eamon (currently in year 10), who attends Holland Park School. With the support and encouragement from George, Eamon’s grades have been rising and consistently high, resulting in him moving up in his Maths lessons. As a result of this Eamon intends to take his GCSE Maths early (January 2016), with the help of George who has been a great inspiration to him and has not only played the role of a tutor, but also a mentor and older brother. George is a vibrant and enthusiastic young man, his enthusiasm is infectious and the fact that all around him want to listen to what he has to say. He is full of confidence and determined to succeed, and has therefore applied himself to this particular end.”
