My Information

I provide bespoke, friendly, piano and keyboard lessons to beginner and intermediate students aged 5 to adult across Ryedale, including Malton, Pickering, York and Scarborough. I tailor my music lessons to the student’s needs. As an experienced classroom teacher (CRB checked), I can also help students with music theory or composition studies, especially those embarking on examination courses. I am also a composer, having scored the soundtracks to several feature films, shorts, documentaries and audio books For convenience, I travel to students’ homes to teach within a 20 mile radius.

Availability: By agreement, Monday to Friday 9am - 7pm.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 30 years experience of teaching the piano and classroom music in Ryedale (Primary School through to Secondary School, including GCSE and ‘A’ Level), as well as teaching the piano and keyboard In that time, I have successfully entered many students for their Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music instrumental examinations. My musical qualifications include a BA (Hons), Dip.Mus, PGCE teaching certificate and I hold a diploma in Media Composition from ThinkSpace (affiliated to the Film Music Institute of Los Angeles). I also hold a 2nd BA (Hons) in Humanities (English/History). As a media composer, I have won several commissions to score the soundtracks to feature films, shorts, animated films, documentaries and even audio books. I have many satisfied clients across the world. I tutor all ages and am a Member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians – the UK’s professional body for musicians.
