I am a freelance music producer based in North London. I operate from a small home studio and specialise in rock and guitar-based recording, and have experience in genres ranging from classical to hip hop.
I released my self-produced album "Going Home" in 2014, and recently finished working as the music technician at Eton College, where, amongst other duties, I assisted with the teaching of Music Technology A-Level in terms of studio recording.
I began learning the guitar at the age of 9, when I took lessons at school on the classical guitar. I made the transition to the electric guitar at the age of 14. Whilst the classical training undoubtedly underpinned my electric playing, there was much that I did not understand, both in terms of how the instrument worked, and additional techniques unique to the electric guitar.
As a result of this, I invested many hours into learning about these aspects, through communication with fellow guitarists and experimentation with different styles of guitar techniques and guitar construction and set-up. I have been able to use this knowledge to develop my own stylistic 'sound' when playing, and also to build and modify my own guitars.

I have six months' experience assisting with the Music Technology A-Level syllabus in an elite school, which sparked my interest in teaching, and began teaching guitar when a friend asked for lessons. I have now stopped work at the school with a view to becoming a full-time teacher of guitar and music technology.

I have come from a singing background and never played an instrument before so it is all completely new to me. Mike has been very understanding that I'm a little older and have a hectic schedule. He is patient yet persistent and he encourages me to practice as much as he possibly can. Mike is a lovely guy and great teacher and recommend to anyone on all levels of learning guitar.
