PLEASE NOTE (and many tutors seem not to know this) that many schools (includIng Wirral from the 2016 intake) are changing to CEM style tests to try and `fox` tutors. Well it doesn`t fox me, for a start I took CEM myself and scored 99% when I was 11 and have been showing people this stuff ever since (including all my cousins hehe) and secondly, CEM is great as it discourages tutors who insist on programming their pupils like robots, and this is something I think is very wrong to do.
If you have ANY questions about the CEM format, message me! Plus as there are now four skills to cover (see below) anyone wanting tuition now for the CEM exams will need to commit to TWO HOURS MINIMUM per week as there are now four subjects to cover, almost none of which is covered in schools till well after the 11+ and sometimes not even by the end of Year 6.
The CEM is FOUR possible topics: Maths to a level 5A (in old money as it were)including algebra, area of circles, volume of complex shapes, complex fractions, decimals, percents, ratios and averages that are typical of the old level 6 booster tests done in SATs at the end of Year 6. English multiple choice comprehension to level 5A/6 standard of vocabulary knowledge and often involving pre 20th century texts such as Dickens.
Verbal Reasoning (40 possible types) Non Verbal Reasoning (up to 30 possible types) There will always be some of EACH of the four topics on the exam. The CEM providers (Durham University) do NOT release past papers only sample papers so all possible topics have to be covered as schools will not be informing parents which styles of papers they will use (there are four possible slants/exam paper types covering part of the topics above, of which they will use two.) Armed Forces entrance exams are also a specialism of mine.

Key Stages 1-3 I cover English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, French, Spanish GCSE and A/S Levels: English, Chemistry, History, Geography, Psychology, French, Spanish, Classical Civilisations, all to Higher Level and Maths (Foundation), A levels: English, French, Spanish, History, Classical Civilisations.
I offer Elocution and Voice (singing) (I am LAMDA trained) and Calligraphy too. I do 1-2-1 online only so you will need Skype :) and offer a tailored programme of lessons tailored to fit the pupil. My approach is friendly but no-nonsense and a little unconventional, and I am very well acquainted with all the syllabuses.
I also have a lot of experience teaching (especially English and Elocution-speaking correctly- but also all in most other subjects) for pupils (child and adult) for whom English is not their first language. Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you!
Availability: General Availability:
Term time: weekdays 4-9pm in school term time. Available day time Monday-Thursday (before 4pm weekdays) for adult learners or for home/independently schooled children too.
School holidays: Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesday 1-9pm only. (Except for Bank Holidays, which I will reschedule as extras on the ends of lessons either side of Bank Holidays or move to Thursdays 1-9pm.)
FRIDAYS: usually this is my `marking and lesson prep day` but I will lift this for short term/emergency tuitions such as retakes. I will even consider weekend tuitions short term but they have to be double lessons MINIMUM to cover everything, and prepared to move to Monday to Thursday when availability is there to do so.

Tutor since 1991 with a 95% pass rate across all the subjects (97% at 11+) and over 600 pupils across the wide range of subjects shown above. I have worked in the Youth Service, a primary and a secondary school all in deprived areas and am aware of all the issues that can affect learning that are not just academic. I am also a qualified child and LGBT counsellor. My `other` job: I write top quality online help guides for a well established UK and Europe based school syndicate for all UK exam boards for English, French, Spanish, Classics and History GCSE- A2 level, and also Geography, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology at GCSE. I am in the process of compiling a Doctorate (PhD) in Education based on the methods I have developed over the past 20+ years at The University of Liverpool.
