About Lucrezia

I have just finished my third year of university at Imperial College studying Biochemistry with Management. I attended the Cheltenham Ladies College from 2007 to 2012, and before this Dr Challoners High School.

I have therefore done both the 11+ for entrance to a grammar school, and common entrance exams for entrance to CLC and other schools alike. I am happy to tutor both these entrance exams, as well as the subjects listed below.

Availability: Weekdays and Weekends

Willing to travel: 20 miles

Tutoring Experience:

I teach a variety of students for 11+ entrance exams, senior school scholarships, GCSE and AS/A2 levels. I have been teaching for 5 years, with students attaining great results in public examinations, as well as being moved up to the top sets with internal exams.

Most of my students come to me through word of mouth recommendations, however I also teach for some of the top London based tutoring agencies including Bonas Macfarlane and MyTutorClub. I have also had relevant experience in teaching beginner violinists which is something I am also interested in offering.

I volunteered for a year at a school in Cheltenham which provided me with the experience of younger children and demonstrated to me the patience which is often required with this age group. I have done various weeks of work experience with primary school children contributing to my medical application which have all helped me to gain experience in the attitude required for any level. From my own personal experiences, I believe it is essential to have a teacher who is driven and enthusiastic about the subject they are teaching.

Not only does this keep the student interested but I have also found this creates a desire to learn more about their subject. I believe patience is another key factor to tuition, and with the intention of studying medicine, this is a skill that I see myself to possess. The lessons will be informal however I will set work to be done in between each lesson in order to reach the student's maximum potential.

One-to-one lessons are a very good way of learning the exam syllabi but also create ways to go over any particular tricky aspects of the course with a much more detailed approach. A thorough understanding of subject material is essential and therefore time will be taken in the lessons to explain the concepts required and once a firm understanding is present, practice questions are important to ensure the information can be applied to the sort of questions that they will come across in their exams.

I have references available which I am more than happy to send through to you.
